We believe that every child deserves a strong and positive start. Our kaiako foster holistic development by supporting children emotionally, physically, socially, and cognitively. Through responsive and intentional teaching, we help tamariki build a strong sense of identity, pride in their language and culture, and a foundation for lifelong learning. Our approach recognises and celebrates each child as unique and valued.
As a centre in Aotearoa New Zealand, we honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi and are committed to a bicultural curriculum. Te reo Māori me ngā tikanga Māori are woven into our everyday practice, affirming Māori as tangata whenua and ensuring that all tamariki can see themselves reflected in our environment. We celebrate cultural diversity and uphold Māori values, perspectives, and knowledge in a respectful and inclusive way.
Relationships are at the heart of everything we do. We recognise whānau as the child’s first and most important teachers and strive to build genuine, respectful partnerships. Through open communication and collaboration, we create a strong sense of whanaungatanga, where every child and their family feel a sense of belonging within our community.
At Cuddly Bear, we foster warm, nurturing environments guided by manaakitanga, where children are treated with empathy, kindness, and respect. Our kaiako model caring behaviour and support tamariki to build inclusive, compassionate relationships through positive guidance. We are also committed to sustainability, teaching children to be kaitiaki (guardians) of Papatūānuku through practical activities like gardening, recycling, and conserving resources, helping them develop a deep connection to nature and a sense of responsibility for the environment.
